Abstract: Standard&Poor's Ratings Services lowered its long-term rating to 'A+' from 'AA-' on Rensselaer County Industrial Development Agency, N.Y.'s series 2006 civic facility revenue bonds, issued for Emma Willard School. The rating outlook is stable. The downgrade reflects our assessment of the school's recent operating pressures, which resulted in large deficits based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including a moderately aggressive endowment draw in fiscals 2008 and 2009. In addition, management has indicated it expects similar results in the near future as well as a significant deterioration of financial resources, which are at levels more comparable to the 'A' rating category.
